Akosombo Disaster: Ketu South Gets Relief Items From VRA

Relief items continue to be mobilised through various sectors to contain the recent Akosombo Dam spillage.

It is against this background that the Volta River Authority (VRA) has handed over some relief items to help affected communities in Ketu South.

The items were received by Honourable Dzifa Gomashie, the MP for Ketu South and a representative of NADMO.

Items supplied include; 75 bags of Gari, 75 bags of Beans, 56 cartons of Sunflower oil ,90 cartons of Mackerel, 200 bags of rice, 120 cartons of juice and biscuits for the children, 60 packs of sanitary towels and diapers, and 800 solar lamps.

In addition, the Authority provided medical supplies and drugs such as 600 boxes of antibiotics, 35,000 vials and tablets of pain killers and other drugs to combat diseases like malaria and other waterborne diseases.

This gesture is symbolic of VRA’s commitment to providing relief to all affected communities in the best way possible.
