The final funeral rites of the late Ga Manye, HRM Naa Dedei Omaedru III are currently underway at the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie.
The late Ga Manye died in December 2022.
Ahead of her burial later today, the Funeral Planning Committee of the Ga Traditional Council has outlined a series of activities for the final funeral service.
The funeral service is set to take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023. According to a statement from the Council, both Christian and Traditional burial rites will be observed for the late Ga Manye.
The planned activities include a procession of Ga chiefs and their flags, burial rituals, musketry, and a procession of flags to the casket by Asafoianyemei.
A thanksgiving service is also planned at the Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday.
The funeral service is expected to draw the attendance of various paramount chiefs, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, ministers of state, and several foreign dignitaries.
It’s important to note that all commercial activities have ground to a halt in the nation’s capital, Accra.
