NPP Releases Guidelines For Saturday’s Parliamentary Primaries

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a new press Release signed by the National Secretariat, Justin Kodua Frimpong has released the guidelines for its parliamentary primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024.

In a press statement dated January 22, 2024, the party outlined the protocols designed to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.

In the press release, it noted that “There will be one voting center in each constituency nationwide. However, in constituencies with many delegates, the Electoral Commission (EC) may establish additional polling stations at the center to expedite the process. All stakeholders are urged to comply with these provisions to guarantee a smooth and transparent process,” it stated.

The statement noted that the EC would oversee the elections, holding the full responsibility of ensuring a transparent, free, and fair election.

“No individual, whether a government appointee, party official, or otherwise, should act contrary to the directives of the Electoral Commission and these guidelines.”

“Security activities are exclusively handled by the Ghana Police Service, and access beyond security perimeters is restricted to delegates, individuals appointed by the National Secretariat and Region as election supervisors, contestants, and their accredited agents,” it emphasized.

It also stated that ”there shall be no campaign canvassing for votes or gathering of party members for any purposes whatsoever a day before voting.”
